Always Best Care

When caring for aging loved ones or disabled individuals, the choices can be confusing. Fortunately, there is a trusted, Mountain Brook-based company that can help. Always Best Care is a home care company that delivers skilled and caregiving services to seniors and disabled individuals. These ser-vices can be in the home, hospital or senior living community.

Always Best Care employees provide an array of services such as bathing, vital sign monitoring, med-ication reminders, meal preparation, companionship, transportation and incontinence care. For those who require skilled services, Always Best Care nurses offer skilled nursing services, including medication administration, catheter, wound, burn and trach care, as well as disease manage-ment. “We work very hard to iden-tify and recruit the most qualified and experienced caregivers and nurses in Bir-mingham. A high bar is set because our overriding goal is to provide the best in-home care services available in town,” said Jennifer Mancuso, owner of Always Best Care.

Mancuso has many years of experience in the healthcare industry. She worked in sales management and traveled the U.S. with healthcare software and consulting firms for several years before starting Always Best Care. “When I started the company, I was looking for an opportunity to stay in the local health care arena, serve the community and get off the road,” she said. She found a perfect opportunity when she opened Always Best Care nine years ago. Always Best Care is different from other companies because it provides both skilled and non-med-ical caregiving services. Always Best Care is the only healthcare company in the state of Alabama to be accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Healthcare (ACHC) for Private Duty Aide and Com-panion services. In addition to their ACHC accreditation, in November of 2021, they were presented with Private Duty Home Care accreditation by the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC). The company was also chosen to be a Home Care Pulse Best of Home Care – Provider of Choice. Last December, Always Best Care was named by Caring.com to be a Caring Stars 2020 “Super Star” agency.

Mancuso said that she is truly honored by these acknowledg-ments of the excellent care services provided by her team and believes that the awards are an indication of the focus, hard work and dedication to the company’s clients.

According to Mancuso, “We take a concierge approach to working with our clients.” Upon being contacted by a potential client, the Always Best Care Sales and Ser-vices Director creates a customized client care plan. “Our clinical team members make regular home visits to ensure that the client is healthy and happy and that the care plan is being followed. We engage with family members, as well as the client’s healthcare providers, to keep them informed about a client’s health and well-being. As a next step in improving client care, the company will soon be rolling out a free remote monitoring system. For those clients who are interested, the system can track vital statistics, including blood pressure, glucose levels, temperature, weight, pulse, oxygen levels and other statistics. By tracking these statistics remotely in real-time and over time, the system is designed to allow clients to age in place and avoid frequent hospital visits, Mancuso said. Since the COVID outbreak last year, more and more people have decided that the safest place to stay is in their homes, as opposed to in a senior care facility. Always Best Care employees are prepared to work in today’s stringent health care envi-ronment and are armed with plenty of training and protective gear for themselves and their clients.

Providing the highest quality of service is critical to the team at Always Best Care.  “We routinely survey our clients, as well as our employees, to ensure that they are extremely satisfied with Always Best Care. Any identified issues are swiftly remedied. We are constantly working to improve our proto-cols,” Mancuso said. In addition, Facebook, Google and other social media platforms show the com-pany receives consistently top ratings. Mancuso stays active in her community and supports Alz-heimer’s of Central Alabama, the Parkinson’s Association, the Tanner Foundation, the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, the Fraternal Orderof Police Lodge 78 and Mountain Brook High School.
