Governor and lieutenant governor, government of Guam, FHP, Guam Memorial Hospital, mayors and Public Health and Social Services Division of Senior Citizens display tataotao Guahan spirit and inafamaolek.
I am emboldened to stand and step forward to speak truth and honor the above, for the programs and services to the elderly and the sick.
My elderly parents have declined greatly, being 84 and 81 respectively. My parents and family have pulled together in love to assist and support through this time of need.
Case management, adult day care, in-home respite services and food delivery are all government programs with services that dramatically showcased the best of government and Guam senior citizen care.
Personnel were very caring and efficient, and followed up incessantly. Maria Timoteo, especially, with ADC was relentless with following up and assisting with coordination and networking, with many areas outside of daycare! Case management was very on top of communications and executing immediate direct services.
FHP Dr. Tham called me at 9:00 in the evening to return to Urgent Care. Then they expeditiously provided hardcopy/CD and informed GMH ER I was being referred.
The GMH doctors, nurses, registration clerk, housekeeping, nursing assistant, food services, janitors … they are consummate professionals with excellent bedside manners! The teamwork to make the hospital run with compassion and best practices is evident in all their actions.
I observed many in their respective areas execute with finesse and pride. I overheard one nurse firmly cajoling another to take a break and eat her lunch, and the other wanting to finish what she was doing. Doctor after doctor came in, and you don’t feel like a number … you don’t feel like they’re rushing off somewhere more important. Your nurse, thanking you for being patient and kind!
Guåhan is in caring hands. All of the above is a testament and witness to the spirit of our governor and lieutenant governor and their governance. It’s not just the huge headliners and ads … but the minutiae and mundane … Leadership, performance and inefresi exist in Guåhan and in our magahaga and magalahi segundo!
