Tell Your Story – Monday, April 4 – 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Fayetteville location at The Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive:

You never know the value of your story until you tell it! Each month, join us for a chance to create your story. This month, explore all things you, focusing particularly on your childhood. Why start here? Well, it is the beginning of all your beginnings. It’s where it all starts. If you think of life as a garden, then this theme covers the foundational plantings. These formative times are worth writing down and remembering. Join Joyce Beverly for this month’s chapter of the Tell My Story Course. Enter with memories and leave with a written story! Price includes printed course materials related to monthly theme, access to online resources and materials, and ability to join weekly Zoom writing sessions with Joyce. You don’t need to be an artist to create these colorful abstract works of art…made from crayons. Yes, you read that right! Gather up your grandkids leftover crayons (or buy some new ones) and learn a craft that is easy and fun. Bring out your creative side with Bonita Prigmore, owner of Medicare and Other Red Tape, as she guides you in creating your masterpiece. Bring your own crayons, pencil sharpener or grater and your creativity; all other materials will be supplied. Leave with a beautiful piece to take home. Photo samples available at front desk! The Ruins of the Civil War – Wednesday, April 13– 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior

While much of the remains of the Civil War have disappeared in the Atlanta Area, there are still some incredibly interesting sites to see from the era. These include mill ruins, forts, schools, and even some town ruins. The sites include Starr’s Mill, Roswell Mills, Historic Banning Mills, Skull Shoals, Campbellton, Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield, and Allatoona Battlefield, to name a few. Historian Robert Jones joins us via Zoom to share some of the fascinating history of Civil War ruins around the Atlanta area. Just Shred It: Shredding Services – Friday, April 22 – 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Fayette Senior

FayetteSenior Services will have a shredding truck from A1 Shredding on site to take care of your shredding needs. Bring in your papers needing to be shred and have taken care of at a convenient and familiar site. FSS will not be handling any of your papers; each member is responsible for taking their shredding out to the trucks directly. Summer gardens are fun to plant and rewarding in bounty, but they can also improve your health and change your life. Certified Health Coach and Dietitian Jennifer Lunsford will join us to discuss the health benefits of summer vegetable gardens and why you will want to have certain veggies in your gardens. Picture Perfect Portrait – Tuesday, April 26 – 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS)

Portrait photography is about capturing the essence, personality, identity and attitude of a person utilizing backgrounds, lighting and posing. While this definition may sound simple, portrait photography can be one of the most challenging forms of photography to master. The goal is to capture a photo that appears both natural and prepared to allow the subject’s personality to show through. Dana Scott with DMS Creative Solutions shares about the various types of portraits along with some tips and techniques on how to take good ones. You will also have the opportunity to practice taking portraits in class. You can use your cell phone or camera for this class. If you have an off-camera flash that works with your camera, please bring as well. This program is $15. Pre-registration is required and payment must be made at the time of registration.
